While attending the Goldring Ceremony at Buffalo Trace last month I was reminded of a quote from Dr. Seuss’ LORAX,
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better, it’s NOT!
I immediately thought of you angels! Your caring thoughts and support for the children of the Kings Center has bettered the lives of so many. Thank you once again for your faithfulness. And by the way, there is nothing sacred about the 20th of the month. I have urged you to send your cards by then but ANY TIME is fine! And if you forget one month, send two the next.
It is Fall Break already (three weeks for Second Street students) and the Kings Center will be open from 11-3, serving lunch to any child in the neighborhood. Several enrichment programs will be offered as well as fieldtrips to Champs Skating Rink, the Underground Railroad Museum, and Boyd’s Orchards.
Last week I took fifteen children to the Grand Theatre to participate in a dance workshop conducted by members of the Dance Kaleidoscope Company. They actually learned several ballet positions and applied them to modern dance. I uploaded the pictures on our website but of course the ones that appear first are videos of them performing one of their own dances for the teachers! If you go to the website be sure to look at all the pictures of them doing ballet steps!

Thanks to all of you who graciously accepted another child. I had to do a lot of adjusting to get angels for all our new little ones. Thanks also for your timely donations. It has made my book-keeping easier!
As Maya Angelou said, Be a rainbow in someone’s cloud! Thanks for being a rainbow to our children and to me!
