Fred Rogers once said,”I believe that appreciation is a HOLY thing–that when we look for the best in a person…we’re doing what God does all the time. So in loving and appreciating our neighbor, we’re participating in something sacred.”
Thank you for participating in the City of Angels program! Thank you for showing appreciation for the children of the Kings Center by your prayers, your cards, and your gifts! You are truly being a “special neighbor!”
Since Beth Bacon Shera has taken on the directorship, things have been hoppin’ at the Kings Center. Over Spring break a busload went on an archaeological dig in Menifee County. Jackie Duvall came and taught a fitness and nutrition program. Jeri Howell started an eight week course at the Fantasy Forest on birds sponsored by the Audubon Society. The FHS computer class did a training with the kids regarding the proper use of the computers. Check out pictures on our Facebook page.
The downstairs is cleaned out and repainted! A “cool” place to hang out for the older kids as they use the computers. AND we’re hoping to get the raised beds cleaned out soon so we can plant our salsa garden.
Many of our kids are running in the Pro-Active 5K this Friday as part of the RUN FOR GOOD team led by Misty Seitz. Cheer them on if you happen to be downtown for the race.
SAVE THE DATE: Friday, June 22, 6:00-8:30, our annual dinner & silent auction: Barbecue Fit for a King held in Asbury Hall at FUMC.
Thanks again for your faithfulness. I will try to get letters out to each of you soon about your continued support. You can now send your cards to the Kings Center, 202 E. Third Street BUT continue to mail your checks to my home address: 712 Winterhaven Lane, Frankfort 40601.
